Tonight is Cork Culture Night so we at Blarney Woollen Mills have selected our favourite events that are happening to give you the perfect night. There is so much to do and see tonight in the city, so join in on all the fun including music, talks, poetry, debates, arts and food and drink tastings. There is something to suit everyone, for families and children.
- Childrenâs Events
The Quay Co-op Bookshop: Cork author Kevin Doyle will read from his much loved childrenâs book âThe Worms that Saved the Worldâ with its illustrations on exhibition. Â Time 5pm â 9pm, location Quay Co-op, 24 Sullivanâs Quay.
- Exhibition / Screening
Cork Photo Gallery: An exciting photography and mixed media exhibition is showcasing in the gallery with works by national and international artists and photographers. Time 4pm â 8pm, location Lord Mayorâs Pavilion, Fitzgeraldâs Park.
- Food / Drink
Franciscan Well Brewery: Celebrate Corkâs fantastic Craft Beer culture with the Franciscan Well, with tour a tour of the micro-brewery, beer tastings and food. Time 6pm â 9pm, location 14b North Mall.
- Music / Performance
The Everyman: A must see theatre, The Everyman is hosting events for all the family including storytelling, singing and dancing. Time 4pm â 6pm, location 15 MacCurtain Street. You can also take a behind the scenes tour at 3pm.
- Literature / Poetry
Cork City Library: The library is holding a day full of events for the culture night, including a selection of Seamus Heaneyâs poetry presented by Mary Fitzgerald and a music session with Mickey MacConnell. Location, Grande Parade.
- Talks & Walks
LâAtitude 51: A historical walking tour around the streets of Cork city will be lead by the trio behind the âBringing the Wine Geese Homeâ tastings. The walk will be followed by a wine tasting in the bar. Bookings are advised at this is a very popular event to attend. Time 4pm â 6pm, location 1 Union Quay.
- Workshop / Demo
Cork Academy of Music: The Academy will be holding an improvised jazz workshop with Tom Mulcahy. People of all ages and music skills welcome. Time 4:30pm â 6pm, location Griffin Burke Building, North Monastery Campus, North Monastery Road.
